Wade finished 6th out of 170 anglers!!! This was such an exciting tournament. Each day he came back with the biggest smile on his face – he wasn’t nervous and stressing out, he truly was happy to be where he was at each day was thankful for another opportunity to go fish.
There are four days to each tournament – everyone fishes the first two days and then the cut the field to 30 boats for day 3. He made the cut in 15th! They then cut the field to 10 boats for day 4, and Wade was in 6th. He held his place and finished 6th overall!
Amy surprised us by flying out for the third day and Jon made it out for the final day. It was awesome getting to see our family after being gone for a few months and so great that they got to share in all the excitement! Jon fished the same FLW Tour when Wade was little – so cool watching them fish together at home and now support each other as they fish separate tournaments.
Also when we came back to Lake Toho we were doing our best to avoid Boggy Creek but all the campgrounds were full still! At the last minute (literally pulling into a different place) we got into Richardson’s Fish Camp. It was right on the water so Wade could launch and drive his boat over to the take off spot for the tournament. Even better – the Strelic’s friend Brett was in town (he fishes the Major League Fishing Tour and did FLW when he first started fishing professionally).
